The concept of NaBloPoMo has made me think...what do participants find to blog about every day? I don't blog regularly. I might blog every day for a week & then you don't hear from me for a couple of months. The reason being that this is primarily a knitter's blog, with a few other crafty asides.
I started this blog as a place to "show off" my freeform bags/purses & as a place for myself where I could have a dated, photographic record of the bags I was making at the time. I still do occasionally create a freeform bag but over the years this blog has developed and the introduction of Ravelry has given me a place to have a record of my knitting.
For bloggers like me who don't give a lot of personal details on their blog NaBloPoMo may be a difficult commitment unless their blogging style changes. It'll be interesting to see if NaBloPoMo results in us crafty type bloggers sharing more personal stuff.

iPod Touch
I have a new toy! Earlier this year I had to get a new mobile phone. I couldn't justify the cost of the iPhone & didn't think I'd use all the functions. I opted instead for a similar style touch phone, different brand. It is "OK". I don't find it particularly user friendly & texting is a pain.
Fast forward 6 months & my iPod decides to pack it in. I started looking at new iPods & discovered the ipod Touch (yes, I've been living under a rock & didn't know it existed). Last week I had the chance to buy a slightly used 16GB iPod Touch & yesterday it arrived. I love it! I can now see the mass appeal of the iPhone.
I've downloaded some apps (see I'm learning the lingo) and so far have Stitchminder, Knit Counter, Tweetie and a couple of games: Words & Brain Challenge. Any other recommendations?
Oh, I promise there will be some knitting content, with photos, soon.

NaBloPoMo or Blogging Without Obligation?
On the NaBloPoMo site there is the NaBloPoMo badge that can be added to your blog sidebar if you wish. For my sidebar, I've added the Blogging Without Obligation badge instead. The name says it all I think.

NaBloPoMo
I've often wondered what NaBloPoMO stood for. I guessed it was something to do with regular blogging but didn't know "exactly" what it was. Now I know, NaBloPoMo is National Blog Posting Month. The idea is to blog every day for a month. Can I do it? Nah, I can't even blog every week.
And see, I missed the first day all together.

Not So Loud
I keep forgetting to blog about the Whisper Cardigan by Hannah Fettig. If you're on Ravelry, the link to the pattern is here. Otherwise this link will take you to Hannah's website.
I love the Whisper Cardigan so much I have yarn & am going to cast on soon for the Featherweight Cardigan also designed by Hannah.
For Whisper I chose to use Anny Blatt Fine Kid, a wool mohair blend in purple/pink/orange. I love how the yarn pooled & swirled in some areas.
The camera had a bit of trouble focusing but you can get the idea.
And I haven't forgotten the French Girl Knits patterns. I searched my stash first looking for a yarn that would be suitable in type & quantity for one of the projects. This lead me to photographing my stash (not including odd/part balls that I'm using for freeform projects or my knit design course samples) and loading it onto my Ravelry page. I'm hoping this will make yarn selection a bit easier in future.
But, back to French Girls. I haven't found a yarn/project match yet so may have to do some online ordering. In the meantime I can cast on for Featherweight & finish some other WIPs.
